They are simply a larger size. It's what's inside that makes a difference. But at the end of the day, 18650s and 26650s are just sizes, like 2x4 or 2x6 wood lumber. One isn't necessarily better than the other, but one might be more appropriate than the other for a specific job or task.
Hello Micah. I'm a big fan of all your videos and I have already built few packs with the knowledge acquired watching them. Are you guys planning on have a kit for the 26650 cell. that would be awesome
Potentially, but it would require an increased demand. It costs tens of thousands of dollars to make the molds, so there has to be enough demand for 26650 holders to make it viable.
Hey Micah, your book (paperback + Kindle) arrives today & after looking at your battery kits, I've realized they're really the best choice for building packs.
I have several projects (DIY Powerwall, RV batteries, etc.) that I want to build from these cells:

Their price point is attractive, the capacity is good, and the chemistry is safer for homes & RV's - Wait, I'm just quoting your book back to you, never mind.... 😉
The point is, please add my vote to your "please build 26650 cell kits" list.
Thanks!!
Franko
